WKA Newsletter 12.10.2008

Dear WKA member,

as you could already notice, there have been made some changes in WKA rulebook. You can find up-dated version of WKA amateur official rulebook on www.worldkickboxing.com , as well as on www.wkaworld.com.

These are the main changes which have been made:

General part:
1.article 2.3. letter c) – fine for participation of non-amateur in amateur events was set at 250 EUR
2.article 4.1. – forms competitor must have medical check as well
Fighters in ringsports must undergo AIDS test in cost of 2 € if the test is available and if it is possible to provide it according to the local law
3.article 5 – age limit in adult age category has been changed and new age categories for ringsports divisions were added
4.article 6 – adjusted overview was put in
5.article 6.1.3. – tolerance – number of allowed overbooking per country has been changed
6.article 8 – referees was adjusted according to be prepared referee project, please all referees read this article carefully including article relates to clothing ! (During the pre-elimination competitions up to semi finals, T-shirt (or Polo-shirts) with the print “OFFICIAL” or “REFEREE” are allowed and all referees have to wear grey or black trousers.)
article 8.9. – required number of referees per country has been changed as well as payment of referees on Worldchampionship. Please be aware that required number of referees per country will be checkd on Worldchampionship and from this rule resulting consequences.
7.article 8.7. – Decisions of the official doctor can be subject to protests if the second doctor is present at the event. The second doctor will make decision about the protest.

Pointfighting:
1.article 1.1. – chest protector was replaced by breast protector
2.article 5.3.- spinning sweep is legal technique by pointfighting
Forms:
1.scoring – Points are given to two decimal place using a 9.85-10.00 scale.
2.music – In all musical divisions it is strictly forbidden to use music with racial comments and profanity. In case that lyric of the song will contain racial comments or profanity, 0.50 point will be deducted from total score.
3.time limit – There is a 3:00 minute time limit to announce and complete the form performance by all forms divisions. When a forms competitor(s) name has been announced by the scorekeeper to compete, the time starts when a competitor(s) first step onto the matt and the time stops with the last technique in the form which is a courtesy bow.
Note:
All judging will start when a competitor(s) step onto the matt and the time starts. This includes any flips, gymnastic or aerial moves and the spinning of weapons. If a weapon has been dropped anytime a competitor(s) is on the clock they will be disqualified.
The center referee will inspect all the weapons before a division starts so it does not take away from a competitors 3:00 minute time limit.
If a competitor exceeds the 3:00 minute time limit they will be disqualified.
A competitor can receive more than one penalty per division.
4.penalty in forms divisions was set on 0.50 score deduction from total score
5.article 7 – weapon no music – Also release moves is not allowed
6.article 10 – extreme form division was put in

Rules for karate kumite were put in

Lightcontact:
1.Only soft punches to the head or face in Kids Division are allowed.
2.article 6 – In Light-Contact deliberate knock-outs are not allowed.

Ringsport divisions:
1.article 10 – rules for new ringsport divisions were put in – children, teenagers, kadets

Rules for Kyokushin Knock Down Karate were put in

As mentioned above, for all changes which have been made in WKA amateur rulebook, we strongly recommend to read up-dated version of WKA amateur rulebook carefully.
